Our annual school fees

Zwaanswyk High School is a Section 21 school meaning that we are responsible for our own maintenance and upkeep. All of what we do is facilitated by the school fees that parents pay to us to keep us running.

Our school fees are set at R12175 for 2019. Typically we ask parents to budget for a 10% increase of this amount for the next year.

Discounts and special offers

A 10% discount of the school fees amount is offered when full payment is received before the end of February of that academic year.

The school also offers a 10% discount per family if a learner has a sibling currently completing high school with us.

Payment options

The school’s Finance Department accepts monthly payments via debit order, EFT, or card payments. Card payment facilities are available on the school’s premises. We kindly ask that school fee payments be paid up before the end of the same academic year. 10 monthly installments of the same amount each month are ideal.

Other financial obligations

For each registered learner there is an annual textbook fee that is payable. This fee ensures that your child is equipped with all the necessary resources that s/he needs to excel academically for the subjects that your child/ren are enrolled to do at our school.
These learning and teaching support materials (LTSMs) include:
  • All the textbooks that your child/ren require for their classes
  • All prescribed setworks (for English and Afrikaans, either HL or FAL)
  • All workbooks needed in class (for example Accounting and EMS workbooks; poetry workbooks; Geometry workbooks etc.).
  • All worksheets and/or additional notes.
The textbook fee is set for R500 for the Grade 8s and 9s, and R700 for the Grade 10, 11, and 12s – payable at the beginning of the academic year. A 25% deposit is returned to parents at the end of the academic year provided the books are returned to the school in suitable condition.
Please note: Should you child do an 8th subject (Art, for example, is offered by the Peter Clark Art School in Newlands), this fee and the resources needed for that subject come at an additional expense and are NOT part of the information contained on this page.
